This project is a complete reimagining of a Spanish style suburban house. A mix of modern and traditional design elements were used inside and outside to update the house for modern living while preserving some of the character of the original house. Walls were removed and replaced by structural beams clad in white oak to create open, yet defined spaces. An unused closet next to the kitchen was converted to a glass wine storage room which brings more light and openness into the adjacent spaces. A new primary bedroom & bathroom suite was added to the second floor with a new rooftop patio to take in the views of the surroundings and 4th of July fireworks in the neighboring park.
